TET Turkey Country Page: http://www.transeurotrail.org/turkey/
Your Linesman - Levent Topcu: TR@transeurotrail.org

Updates:

12 March 2018:
The draft route is ready. It is 1,200km long. We are waiting for the right weather to test it. Hopefully, we'll be able to release the route in April 2018.

Any update on this? I will cross into Turkey from Greece in the next week or so and would like to ride some trails. The rough and untested version is fine too :D

Although I'm on a bike bike (GS Rallye) but maybe I can even test some stretches for you or snap some photo's.

Hi Bento,
Good to hear that you are planning to try the TR part of TET.
Here is the situation: A very large percentage of TR TET is actually ready. This weekend I'm heading for the last bit, hopefully. Please let's contact again next Monday and I will most probably be able to give a full route.
In any case stick with your plans to include TR in your trip, I'll give a route next week.
REgards,
-lev.

Thanks! Could you also tell me if there are parts which can be done with a big adventure bike (R1200GS) loaded with luggage? I'm on a RTW trip at the moment :-)

Hi Bento,
Great, let's get in touch again next week Monday.
Your other question is the most favorite one on this forum. There are many sections easily doable with a GS. Yet, some rain and you have a different picture.
I've done it all with my G650x. Loaded with soft luggage.
My personal opinion is that a competent rider on proper tyres should be able to to finish the route on a +200kg bike. But, that is by no means a recommendation. I personally would not go alone on a fully loaded GS. This part of Turkey is flat. You will face muddy sections and canals even in summer/dry conditions.
Turning 180 degrees is usually a wise choice under such situations. It's all up to you.
I will try to put together a video, but I can not find enough time for editing.. hopefully soon..

Hi Levent
Any news on when a route will be published?
My husband and I will be heading into Turkey from Bulgaria on our DR350’s next week and are hoping to ride as much of it on trails as possible.
