Re: Huge gpx-file

Thanks, Google Earth is very handy, but it's still just a snapshot in time. Roads do change.

I'll take a look into wikiloc and the others you'd suggested.

It's easy to forget how lucky we are in the UK to have the O.S. providing accurate maps in so many formats.

Re: Huge gpx-file

Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but I've been going over the Spanish TET route for my own use and trying to tidy them up a bit. Are there any recommendations for the best digital maps to use? (Garmin compatible for me.) I'm working in Base camp, and I've tried: Garmin's Recreational Map Europe ...

Re: Given The Huge Interest In TET From Owners Of All Types Of Bikes - Grading Of TET?

As mentioned above, everybody has different ability, experience and comfort levels, as well as different bike. www.graveltravel.ca is the website behind the Trans Canada Adventure Trail, which is also a route put together by local riders contributing a local section. Re: Frameless Panniers?

There are some new panniers from Givi. GRT708. I have not seen them yet, but they look promising. I have not seen those, but I have the tail bag from the same series: https://www.givi.co.uk/soft-bags/Others/GRT707 It was cheap and it's nice, but compared to stuff from Enduristan or Kriega, the mate...

Re: Spot Satellite Tracker/Messenger

I'm pretty sure Spot sevice is sold as a full year only.
You can pay month by month, but on a year long contract.
Even after that year is up, you have to commit to another whole year to continue with the service.

Re: Which laptop/tablet to bring on a journey..?

I use a Microsoft Surface 3 (not pro version) in a UAG rugged cover, inside a thin dry bag, packed between layers of clothes. It survived plenty of falls in a soft side pannier, so seems tough enough if packed well. It's basically a medium sized tablet that runs a full PC version of windows with a k...
